This place is some serious down home cooking. I had the Pork Chop Plate and I'm here to tell you...absolutely the biggest pork chops I have seen in a restaurant. They were huge, tasty and fried to perfection. It was so good we went back the next day too! If you're in Greer, South Carolina, and you're hungry...you REALLY need to check out South House!!
I purchased Cherry Pie today and it was so deliciou. It reminded me when I attended Tryon Street Elementary and my aunt and cafeteria staff would make it and my aunt Christen would always give me extra crust. I ate it as slowly as possibl, because it was that goo.
I have eaten here a couple times and it has always been good. The prices are good for the servings as well.
i eat here often because of their "home cooking", good prices , and changing daily menu. I just wanted to say with cool weather coming they have the best vegetable beef soup I've found outside of my own. A good bowl of veggie soup and cornbread is always a good choice here.
We tried this restaurant on the Sunday. We did not have the Buffet. We ordered off the menu and it was very good so good we had to wait a little while. Not long and it was certainly worth the wait. Service was wonderful. It's what one would call a Country restaurant. They are not trying to impress people with fancy paintings just good food.
This is one of the best places around, expect a wait and it's well worth it ! The plates are plentiful and always fresh!
Saw this place on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. Man, are we glad we did. I couldn't get over the Saturday night special. The NY strip and 2 sides for $9.50. I know it used to be $8 something from other reviews. Still a great deal. Service was great and very friendly. Food came out lightning fast. The steak melted in my mouth and the potato was nice and soft. Really, for the money you absolutely can't beat this restaurant. This restaurant has stood the test of time and isn't trendy or fashionable but is just what the doctor ordered. Great food at a great price. We will be back for sure.
This is a great back to basics place to eat. We are in the area working so when we found this place we started eating here everynight because they have something different on the menu each day. We have not been disappointed! We can both eat for less than 20.00 and it has been good every time.
